Our Mission
GSL Football is on a mission to provide an exceptional youth sports experience. We believe in the power of sports to shape character, instill discipline, and create lifelong memories. Our commitment extends beyond the field as we strive to foster a love for the game and instill valuable life skills in our young athletes.
Recognizing a community need, GSL Football proudly introduced flag football to our lineup of youth sports under the GSL umbrella. Our inaugural flag football season in Fall 2023 was a resounding success, with over 100 kids participating. This positive response reaffirms our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our community.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Welcome All Ages: GSL Flag Football is open to boys AND girls ages 3-14, providing a dynamic and inclusive environment for every young athlete.
Spring 2024 Registration: Exciting news! Registration for the upcoming spring 2024 season is now open.
Registration Perks: Each registered athlete receives a customized jersey, ensuring they look and feel like part of the team. Additionally, registration covers their banquet meal plus one guest!
Multi-Player Discount: GSL Football offers a multi-child discount for every additional child that is registered.
Ages and Registration
Player Evaluations/ Meet Your Coach
Dates: Player evaluations for 6U and 8U will be on March 11, 2024 @6pm, while evaluations for 10U and 13U are scheduled for March 12, 2024 @6pm.
Location: Join us at the Mt Herman Church practice field for a chance to showcase skills and have a blast.
Coaches: Get an opportunity to meet your coach and team. Get to know each other and play a little football.
Age Group Breakdowns
3&4 Clinics: Designed for 3-4-year-olds (must turn 3 on or before 3/31/24) with sessions once a week on Saturdays, and no practices during the week.
6U: Tailored for 5-6-year-olds (must turn 5 on or before 3/31/24).
8U: Geared for 7-8-year-olds (must turn 7 on or before 7/31/23).
10U: Targeted for 9-10-year-olds (must turn 9 on or before 7/31/23).
13U: Ideal for 11-13-year-olds (must turn 11 on or before 7/31/23).
Practice and Games
Practice Schedule: 6U, 8U, 10U, and 13U will have two 1-hour practices during the weekdays at Mt Herman Church practice field starting the week of March 18, 2024. Practices will be on either Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays at 6 pm or 7 pm. Practice times are based on coach availability.
Game Days: Enjoy 6 regular-season games and 1 championship/consolation game on Saturdays, starting from April 6, 2024, at Centennial Park. Each 3&4 clinic is scheduled to coincide with game days.
Rain Dates: We've got you covered! Two rain dates are scheduled into the calendar in case they are needed.
Equipment
Required Gear: Athletes must come prepared with mandatory equipment, including cleats, pocketless shorts, and a mouthguard. (Flags are provided)
Suggested Gear: Enhance your game with suggested equipment, such as football gloves and a play-call wristband.
Season Highlights
Banquet Celebration: Cap off the season with a bang! A banquet is held at the end to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of your athletes, featuring trophies/awards and a catered dinner.
Professional Photography
League Photographer: Capture the memories! Our league photographer will be taking photos of all games as well as individual and team photos this season. Digital copies will be available for purchase, allowing you to cherish and share these special moments. You'll also have the opportunity to see your kids featured on our social media and in marketing/advertising material.

Team Selection
Expectation: All players that are signed up will be placed on a team no later than March 8th, 2024.
Team Snap: Once your child is on a team, you will be able to see league practice/game schedule and events inside of the Team Snap App. You will be sent an invitation to download the app when your child is placed on their team.

In the greater-Garner area, there’s nothing more important than fostering our local sports teams. Leagues like the Garner Sport League Flag Football provides our children a safe place to get physically active and make connections with their peers. We are a community-based organization that brings the love of the game with instructional learning to boys and girls between the ages of 3 – 14.
However, we wouldn’t be able to keep serving our league of young players without important partners like you. Would you be interested in serving as our official team sponsor? Please review and consider one of the sponsorship levels (enclosed).
This would help your organization gain exposure among Garner Sports League Flag Football parents and in the Wake County area including Garner, Clayton, Cary, Morrisville, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, and Apex, and reaching the greater Raleigh area such as Wake Forest, Benson, Oxford, Butner, Smithfield, Rocky Mount and more.
While a nominal fee for participation is charged to families of players, the league relies heavily on donations to operate the program and keep up with field maintenance, equipment, clinics and uniforms. These funds are raised from local community donations and sponsorships. Sponsors receive recognition dependent on the level of commitment. We would be happy with a sponsorship at any level! However, contributions in the Gridiron, Shut Out, or Touchdown tiers help us the most and would get us to our fundraising goal.
